Amid controversy over the ‘Industrial’ policy and the establishment of proposed Pundit Colonies, BJP on Saturday said that if the valley wants development, the entry of foreign and big industrialists of India is ‘inevitable’ because only big industrial houses can invest and bring development in the valley. It however, said that the government has decided to review the policy and one must wait for the outcome. Speaking to KNS, Party’s state general secretary Ashok Koul said that no non-state subject industrialist was to be given the exclusive propriety rights as per the policy. He however, added that the government would see if there was any lacuna in the policy which would be rectified. Mr. Koul but said that the review was not for the ‘state subject’ clause only. He added that the valley has limited resources therefore needed a large scale investment and that was possible only if big industrial houses from outside state are allowed to invest here. Koul also clarified about the establishment of pundit colonies in valley and said the colonies were not only for pundits exclusively, but also included the displaced persons belonging to Muslim and Sikh communities.

“Only pundits were not displaced but there were Muslims and Sikhs also. So all would be there in the colonies in a mixed society” said Koul.He also said BJP wanted to ensure development in all parts of the state including valley thus decided to hold public darbar in every district.“We want to ensure equitable development and redress the public grievances at the door step, therefore have decided to hold Public Darbars in every valley district under BJP ministers. This will not only help solving the problems of people but also enable BJP reach out to the masses” said Koul. The BJP leader also rejected the notion that the social welfare department was being let to suffer due to the absence of minster and said Sajad Lone’s issue would be solved soon. (KNS)
