DDC Kathua reviews progress of developmental projects

In view of ensuing District Development Board (DDB) meeting, the District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting to review the progress of works done under district plan and various programmes and schemes approved by the Government for the year 2015-16.The review meeting was attended by officials of Forest, Social Forestry, Fisheries, DRDA, Soil Conservation, Sericulture and Youth Services & Sports departments.During the meeting, the DDC took a detailed review of physical and financial achievements made by various departments under various centrally sponsored schemes and other flagship programmes.During the meeting, the DDC instructed the Divisional Forest Officers to fence the forest land to prevent encroachment and stressed on plantation drive during the ensuing monsoon season at identified locations. He directed officials of Social Forestry Department to carry out plantation drive of ornamental plants at Lakhanpur and Nagri to give a facelift to the area.The DDC also called for taking up developmental projects including recharging of ponds, fish ponds, plantation of ornamental, mulberry and other plants, leveling of play fields in convergence with MGNREGA.
