Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Ch. Zulfikar Ali today convened a meeting of the officers of twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri and directed them to ensure timely supply of ration to the targeted population.Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Batt, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Haroon Malik ADC Rajouri Mumtaz Choudhary, all Tehsildar's and TSO's along with concerned dealers attended the meeting.

While Chairing meeting of CAPD officers and officials of twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri the Minister stressed upon the officers of the department to work with a proactive approach so that ration is distributed in a transparent and time bound manner. He directed the officers to ensure 100 percent distribution of ration in all ration depots at the end of each month.While toughening stand on black marketing of foodgrains, the Minister directed the field functionaries to ensure zero balancing of ration in the food stores on ending date of every month or be ready to face action.The Minister issued a timeline for PDS instructing officers to start induction of ration on 2nd of every month and stop induction positively on 12th. He added that disbursement should start from 2nd of every month till mid month.During the meeting, the Minister also took tehsil- wise review of the work being done with regard to the implementation of NFSA.    While reviewing the working of the department he impressed upon officials to be extra vigilant   and proactive in the whole process of rectification, addition  and deletion so that no scope of misappropriation  could be left at any level.
