DDC Kathua reviews district Plan preparation

Stresses on inclusion of convergence mode projects

In view of ensuing District Development Board (DDB) meeting  District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the progress on District Plan implementation and preparation of proposals under different sectors for next annual plan.At the outset, the DDC impressed upon the officers to consider the public projections made during the PRAYAS while finalizing the development plan of their respective departments. The DDC directed the PHE department to keep the stand by water pumping motors ready to ensure regular drinking water supply during summer season.The DDC also stressed for organizing awareness programmes regarding different flagship programmes and welfare schemes to educate masses. He also directed BDO’s to motivate people especially of kandi and rural areas to construct water storage tanks to overcome shortage of regular water supply. He also directed all the departments to forward their small labour intensive projects to Rural Development Department for consideration under convergence.    

Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting regarding expenditure incurred under various sectors in the district. The DDC sought the progress/ achievements of various development works in the district from concerned district officers. In the meeting DDC took review of the physical  and financial achievements  made by  Education, PWD, Irrigation, Flood Control, PHE, PDD, Health, Rural Development Department  and other  departments  under various Centrally sponsored schemes and other flagship  programmes. He directed them to update the record of the targets achieved under every flagship schemes and programmes for the year 2015-16.

DDC laid stress on exhibition of the entire work completed through photographs under different schemes and programmes of the departments. He also called for timely submission of data related to targets achieved so that it can be reflected during the proceedings of the DDB meeting.ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh, Assistant Commissioner (Dev), Chief Planning Officer, Superintendent Engineer PDD, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Block Development Officers and other district officers attended the meeting.
