Fire ravages slum in Dhaka

A fire raged through a slum in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka destroying several houses on Wednesday.Fire service officials said that the fire erupted around 8.30 a.m. at the slum in Farmgate area, bdnews24 reported.About 40 fire fighters in at least 10 fire trucks rushed to the scene and were assisted by more than 200 slum dwellers to douse the flames.The cause of the fire remains unknown.No casualties have been reported so far.
