Mir Zahoor takes stock of developmental works in Pampore Constituency

Directs immediate removal of encroachments, plugging of breaches, irrigation pipe, dragging on Wyon Nallah

Minister of State for Forest, Environment & Ecology, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries Mir Zahoor Ahmad Tuesday directed the authorities of Flood Control Department to start immediate construction work on plugging of breaches and dragging on Wyon Nallah on war footing basis. He asked the concerned to remove all encroachments over the Nallah and also directed them to make all irrigation pipes functional and ensure irrigation facilities to the tail end.These instructions were given by the Minister during his extensive  tour to various areas of Pampore Constituency today. The Minister visited Maibagh, Baghendar, Chattlam Lalpur,  Neej and Wyon and  took stock of various ongoing developmental works in these areas besides people’s problems.A team of senior officers of district administration Pulwama including Executive Engineer, Flood Control department, Irrigation and R&B accompanied the Minister during his tour.

The Minister asked the officers and engineers of Flood Control department to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for development of Wyon Nallah and submit the same to the concerned quarter for arrangement of funds.The Minister directed the concerned officers and engineers to work with utmost dedication and gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on all developmental works under different sectors being carried out in the Constituency and complete them in a stipulated time frame.During his tour, several deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their individual and collective problems. These included repairs and renovation of lanes, drains and link roads, replacement of old damaged poles and up gradation of health and educational institutions.

Responding to the demands put forth by the locals, the Minister said that the district administration has already been directed to ensure close coordination with the people and come up with the expectations of the people.Interacting with the people at different places, the Minister said that the Government headed by the Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti is committed to upgrade the living standard of the people of the State especially the weaker sections of the society. He said several measures are underway to upgrade the existing infrastructure of all core sectors including health, education, power and R&B.
