Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Geelani Monday while terming the mainstream parties of Jammu and Kashmir as ‘yes-men’ of India appealed people to be cautious about the ‘foul and nefarious designs’ of right wing Hindu nationalist, RSS.Holding Indian parties responsible for ‘Muslim onslaught’, Geelani said, “they are helping the spread of Hindutva in Kashmir.”Geelani addressed media at his Hyderpora residence-cum-office on Monday.“Islam, Muslims are direct target in J&K,” he said, “the 7.5 lakh army, five lakh Biharis (Non-State subjects), separate zones for Hindus and West Pakistan refugees are a ploy to make J&K a Hindu Rashtra.”“Hurriyat had said it in 2009 (de-militarization campaign) that 28.5 lakh kanals of land are under occupation of army and now the army is concretizing the bunkers which aims at settling them permanently in J&K,” Geelani alleged. The octogenarian Hurriyat Conference (G) chairperson asked Kashmiri youth to be aware of the “evil plans”. “We need to strengthen our movement,” he said, “if we are able to safeguard Islam, and our character, we will be successful.”Referring to recent National Institute of Technology (NIT) crisis, Geelani said, “it was our own college but now majority of students are non-locals after its status was raised at par with other Indian national level colleges.” “Now, CET is being changed in to NEET which is another ploy of playing with the Muslim majority status of J&K and on the other hand, Urdu language is under threat.”Alleging that human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir are at “all-time high”, Geelani said, “it is irony that mourners and protestors in Handwara episode have been named in FIRs registered by JKP.” “Five persons were murdered; killers are roaming free; the minor girl has been detained by police; teachers have been suspended, this all signifies that J&K is a police state,” he said.

Referring to proposed recruitment rally by army in July, Geelani said, “these recruitments in police and army are aimed at strengthening the occupation in Kashmir. India wants to change the mind set of our youth which we should be aware of.”Claiming that attempts are being made to divert the real message of Islam, he added, “now Sufi conferences are being held but Islam is clear and there will be no addition or subtraction from its teachings. The real Islam is Qur’an and Sunnah.”Geelani also criticized the demand of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti about more giving loans to Kashmiri youth. Geelani said, “Mehbooba has asked banks to give more loans to our youth. But, under such debts, they want our youth become loyal to Indian establishment.”Referring to statement of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in which he said that Government of India (GoI) was looking at J&K through “Insaaniyat, Jamhooriyatand Kashmiriyat”, Geelani said, “this is farce.” “This statement is nothing but deception and they (GoI) want to further their illegal occupation of J&K.”Earlier this morning, Geelani chaired Majlis-i-Shoora (Advisory Council) of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat. Notably, Geelani asserted in the presser that his party and the Hurriyat Conference (g) are “well aware as what to do when I am no more.”   When asked about rumours doing rounds that he was appointing Ashraf Sehrai as his successor, Geelani said: “The office-bearers of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and allied parties of Hurriyat (G) will take a decision on that after my death,” said Geelani.
