Army felicitates Kashmir super-30 stars

Programme expansion on cards to benefit more candidates from the state

They are the cynosure of all-within the Valley; in the state of J&K and indeed the whole country. The fifteen sparkling pairs of eyes, which numerous other eyes are drawing inspiration from, had dreamt big and are well on course to realizing those dreams.The Army's Dagger Division at Baramulla felicitated the students of J&K who attended the Army's Kashmir Super 30 Engineering Coaching programme in 2015-16. In a remarkable achievement, 15 students of J&K, attending the Army's Kashmir Super 30 Engineering Coaching programme at Srinagar, have cracked the JEE (Mains) Exam, 2016 on 27 May 2016. Conducted by the Dagger Division, on behalf of Chinar Corps, the Army's Super 30 programme affords Eleven months free coaching to a select group of 30 students from J&K for the Joint Entrance Exam for Engineering Courses.

Interacting with the students Major General JS Nain, GOC Baramulla Division lauded the perseverance and hardwork, put in by all students and the CSRL faculty to strive for success in the National level prestigious Exam. While complimenting the successful candidates, the GOC, urged other youth in Kashmir to develop appropriate skills to enhance their employment opportunities through the Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs. He further assured the Awam that the Chinar Corps is planning to expand the Super 30 programme, this year onwards, to benefit more deserving students from the Valley. All students were presented with Track Suits and stationary items by the Dagger Division.Facing stiff competition wherein close to 15 lakh candidates had appeared in this exam at the National level, the success of 15 students from J & K testifies to the professional conduct of the Super 30 programme. 

Eleven successful candidates now are eligible for the IIT (Advance) exam in May 2016 while all fifteen can seek admissions in various Engineering colleges as per their merit. The Super 30 students are selected based on a State wide exam conducted by the Army with its Training Partner Center for Social Responsibility & Leadership (CSRL).All students are afforded free lodging, boarding and educational facilities under Army's Kashmir Super 30 programme and the best of coaching is imparted to give the students a suitable launch pad for success in Engineering Entrance Exams. This year, 26 students had attended the programme at Srinagar, out of which 15 have qualified in the JEE (Mains) Exam 2016.The excellent results are a big motivator for the youth of the state to set and reach out for their goals and the Chinar Corps would further rejuvenate its efforts to ensure optimal channelization of the youth power in the Valley. With the Chinar 9 Jawan Clubs expanding across Kashmir the strong bond established between the Awam & the Army is bound to manifest in varied fields and scale new heights in the days to come. (KNS)
