Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Monday expressed deep concern on bringing the J&K Students under the ambit of NEET, saying that it is an injustice with the students of J&K who have made their preparations as per BOPEE instructions for appearing in CET for the year 2016-17.EJAC president Abdul Qayoom Wani said that such a decision would harm the students and their chances would become bleak.Majority of the aspirants had not applied for AIPMT but had made preparations for CET conducted by BOPEE. The decision is a bolt for blue for the BOPEE aspirants the students are shocked. The decision would shrink the chances of J&K students. The decision opens up doors for non state subjects to study in J&K medicals colleges this will have far reaching ramifications on the health care delivery in the state.

The NEET will diminish the already limited opportunity for the youth of J&K in education sector besides the job sector. This law will be disadvantageous for the J&K Students and has left the students high and dry.EJAC president urged the state Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to come to the rescue of the students in this crucial juncture and education being in the state list, the decision could be challenged in the Supreme Court so that the students of J&K get immediate relief. He also appealed the civil society to rise to the occasion so that the interests of the students of the students should be safe guarded.Wani assured his full support for the student community in protecting their rights.
