Implementation of NHM in Srinagar reviewed

The District Development Commissioner, Srinagar today took a review meeting regarding the working of different health institutions in the district besides the implementation of National Health Mission (NHM).The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Srinagar, all Zonal and Block Medical Officers besides the Medical Superintendents of JLNM and Gousia Hospitals. During the course of meeting, it was revealed that during 2015-16, 7292 major and 22845 minor surgeries were carried out in JLNM, Gousia and allied PHCs of district Srinagar. 

Besides 949213 different diagnostic tests were conducted in these health institutions of the district. Under Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram 508 normal deliveries and 2672 c-section surgeries were done successfully. Similarly, under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakaram 19284 children were examined.The DDC impressed upon the concerned officers to work with more zeal and spirit to come to the expectations of the common masses. The DDC further assured the participants that every effort will be made by the district administration for improvement of the infrastructural and allied facilities to cater to the growing needs of the health institutions of the district.
