Police arrest three private financers (mafia) in Baramaulla

Police has tightened noose against the private financing firms in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district who acted as mafia and are forcing the poor sector of the district in anti-social activities, an official said.An official while talking to KNS said that the private financing firms in the district are giving credit to the needy people with an interest of 20 per cent. “Whosoever fails to return the credit to the private firm is being involved in the anti-social activities,” an official said.He said that after a written complaint was filed by a local, police arrested one accused, Muhammnad Ashraf Dar who is allegedly involved in pushing the poor sector in anti-social activities.“Two Dar’s members approached to the police station to seek the release of Dar. However, they were also arrested by the police due to their involvement in such happenings,” an official told KNS.The two more persons belong to the (Mafia) were identified as Muhammad Sahreef and Manzoor Ahmad.SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Husain told KNS that they have launched a campaign against the anti-social elements in the district. “We have launched a campaign against the drug peddlers in the district and will continue it. At least 21 persons were so far booked under Pubic Safety Act after their involvement in drug peddling,” he said.Meanwhile, people of the district hailed the police for launching campaign against the drug peddling. “We hope that such campaign would continue till the drug peddling won’t end in the district,” people said.
