Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Wednesday said that banning funeral prayers is glaring example of ‘short sightedness, low mentality, moral degradation and frustration of mufti government and occupational authorities’.In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said that PDP regime has crossed every limit of oppression and has actually beaten all previous records of it. “Amanullah khan like brave leaders and historic personalities are not born often, personalities like these are actually pride of nations,” Malik said.He said that putting a ban on funeral in absentia for JKLF supreme leader Amanullah Khan, ‘so-called ruler’s’ clamped curfew in many areas of Srinagar and Lal Chowk. “All roads leading to Lal chowk had been sealed by barriers and razor wire to stop people from participating in funeral prayers of the deceased leader,” he said.

Malik said that despite curfew, restrictions and his arrest, JKLF leaders and other pro-freedom personalities led by JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt gathered at Basant Bagh and marched towards Lal Chowk.“After crossing many barriers this procession reached near Badshah Chowk where police and forces cordoned it from every side and after stiff resistance arrested JKLF leaders Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Shaukat Ahmed Bakhshi, Noor Mohammad kalual, Sheik Abdul Rashid,Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Bashir Boya, Professor Javed, Mohammad Hanif Dar, Mohammad Afzal Shaikh, Imtiaz Ahmed Ganai, Ali Mohammad Bhat, Nazir Hajam, Imtiaz Ahmed ,Basharat Ahmad Dar etc,” he said, adding that prior to these arrests police also raided JKLF office at Abi Guzar and arrested activist Irfan Ahmad Khan from there.“In today’s protest march at Lal Chowk many personalities from other resistance parties including Bilal Siddiqui, Mohammad Iqbal Gandroo, Tahir Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Ahsan Untoo, Mohammad Saleem Zargar, Hakim Abdul Rashid, Meraj Uddin kalual, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Abdul Rashid, Imtiaz Ahmad Reshi, Bilal Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Iqbal Qureshi, Imtiaz Shah, Mohammad Mustafa, Maulana Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Molvi Hilal, Yar Mohammad Khan, Khawaja Firdous, Prof Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh, Haji Bashir Ahmed, Maulana Mohammad Amin, etc also participated with passion,” he said.

Despite all police actions JKLF activists and common people held funeral prayers in absentia for the deceased leader at many places in valley. Funeral prayers were held at Trehgam, Kupwara Chowk, Hyhama, Bandipora, Hajin, Pulwama, Kulgam, Budgam, Islambad, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Baramullah, Sopore etc. vice chairman JKLF master Muhammad Afzal, leaders Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Rafiq Ahmad war, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Nabi War (tehreek I istiqamat), Javed Ahmed, Gulzar Pahalwan , Abdul Sattar, Molvi Riyaz ,Gulam Qadir Khan, Syed Nissar Jilani led Etc participated in these programs.

Meanwhile, according to the statement, Police in the wee hours of Tuesday morning raided the residence of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and arrested him from there.

JKLF chief said that banning funeral prayers of deceased, clamping curfew, restrictions and arrest have actually exposed the real face of so-called Indian democracy and it has also exposed Mufti regime and occupational authorities who by todays act have actually shown their short sightedness, low mentality, Moral degradation and clear frustration. He said that this regime has actually crossed every limit of oppression and has beaten all previous records of tyranny and suppression.Malik said, “PDP rulers following their Nagpori masters have fell down so much in disgrace that they have lost every bit of honor. While paying rich tributes to deceased leader of freedom struggle Amanullah Khan, whose funeral prayers were held at Liyaqat Bagh Rawalpendi Pakistan today, Malik said that personalities like that of Aman are rear to find and are not born often. These kinds of dignitaries add to the pride of nations and are symbols of its glory. He said that the sad demise of Great leader has actually broken our hearts and today when we pay a farewell to this great soul we pray to our almighty Allah for his heavenly abode.Malik said that Aman could have led a prosperous life and achieved any position and post but he refused to play politics of election and power and instead treaded a path full of thorns and hardships and to his last breath remained steadfast in the way of determination. He said that this nation is indebted to this great leader and today we reiterate our pledge to take this sacred struggle to its desired goal. (KNS)
