Asiea Naqash pays surprise visit to C D hospital, GMC Jammu

Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Housing & Urban Development Department Ms. Asiea Naqash today called upon the functionaries of Health and Medical Education Department to ensure quality medicare to the patients in the government hospitals. She said health department has been accorded high priority by the government and in this regard several reformative initiatives are underway to revamp the health infrastructure besides providing latest equipment especially in remote and hilly area. The Minister said this during her visit to the Government Medical College and Chest Disease Hospital Jammu to review their functioning . She also interacted with the patients and enquired about the medicare facilities providing to them in the hospital.

The Minister inspected different section of these hospitals including Laboratories, X-Ray and OPD Section etc. The Minister also inspected Oxygen Plant, and AC plant installed in GMC Jammu and directed the concerned to ensure proper functioning of these vital plants so that patients do not face any inconvenience.Ms. Asiea while inspecting the Sewerage Treatment Plant in GMC took serious note of its poor functioning and directed the concerned authorities for immediate repairs of the plant.The Minister also instructed the concerned officers of UEED to ensure   proper drainage systems in Jammu city and asked to take   adequate steps for removing clogging’s.Later, the Minister also paid a surprise visit to the Directorate of Social Welfare, Jammu and took stock of the functioning of the office.
