Sukhbir Singh Badal launches two mobile Apps for Punjab police’s citizen centric services

'PP Sanjh' App to provide untraced report, verification, NOC, PCC and passport verification status

Taking further ahead its commitment to transform the public perception about working of Punjab Police, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today launched two people friendly mobile applications with varied facilities to ensure delivery of various citizen centric services to people in an efficient, timely and hassle free manner.After launching the applications here today, Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal, who also holds the home portfolio, said "We must prepare our state police for the challenges of future to make it most professional force of the country equipped with latest gadgets and IT techniques". He stressed that corruption could not be contained by making legislations but minimizing the interface between public and officials, adding he said the solution lies only in provisioning of all government related services online to the public. Keeping in view the Punjab government has decided to provide all citizen services at their door steps to make them online not waiting in line, he emphasised.

These two android mobile 'Apps' – 'PP Saanjh' and 'Know your Police' would facilitate the users to further get help from nine 'applications' namely for untraced reports, verification report, no objection certificate, police clearance certificate, passport verification status, lost articles/equipments/documents registration, complaint registration and know my complaint. These multiple 'Apps' developed by 'Saanjh' wing of state police could be downloaded from Google play store.Giving brief details of new ‘Apps’, Director General of Police Suresh Arora said earlier applicant would have to apply for these services by visiting a ‘Saanjh Kender’ but after downloading these 'Apps' they could get status of their applications on the go and download final certificates or NOCs while at home. He said the embassies of different countries could also check the authenticity of PCC issued to an applicant through this ‘APP’ besides user can get the status of their passport verifications/applications at any time.

He further added that in case of lost articles /equipments/documents one has to visit nearest Saanjh Kender to register his/her report but with this new specially designed app one could immediately report and get the same registered online. The applicant would get a digitally signed receipt by AIG/Saanjh and he could use this receipt for various purposes like getting new mobile connection, passport etc. The unique feature of this application is the facilitation of payment gateway and users could pay the stipulated fee for the required service through credit or debt cards online.Besides this, 'Know Your Police' 'App' would help people immensely in distress situations like accidents, crime situations and enable common people to ascertain details of police stations including its location, telephone numbers and email ids of SHO, DSP, SSP including senior officers in office of DGP, Punjab, DGP said.
