Union Minister Starts Scheme Of Distributing Cards Under Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance Scheme

Punjab government is committed to provide all kind of facilities to the people of Punjab and under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr Prakash Singh Badal, the SAD-BJP government has been performing more than what it promised people. The Union Minister for Food Processing, Government of India, Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal said this while presiding over the District Level function for distribution of Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance Cards to the traders at local Gaushala Bhawan. Mrs Badal said that the Punjab government has helped every section of society and has started schemes in fields of health, education, shagan, atta-dal etc for their welfare. Under the same series it has started health insurance scheme for the traders.The Union Minister Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that the Punjab government has always stood by the traders of state and hence this historical decision was taken to benefit small traders. She said that around 2.5 lacs small traders are registered with the excise and taxation department in state whose firm's annual turn over is Rs 1 cr have been included under this scheme. 

These traders are being given free health treatment upto Rs 50000 for entire family annually. The scheme also includes life insurance wherein in case of accidental death or becoming handicapped, the person gets Rs 5 lacs insurance cover. Also Rs 5 lacs insurance cover has been given in event of loss due to fire. She said that around 5600 traders of Mansa district will be benefited under this project.She added that 403 hospitals have been empanelled under this scheme, which includes 211 private and 192 government hospitals offering free treatment under Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance Scheme.The area MLA Mr Prem Mittal, DC Mansa Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma, chairman district planning committee Mr Prem Arora, chairman Punseed Punjab Mr Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, OSD to deputy CM Mr Mohnish Kumar, ADC Mr Harinder Singh Sra and others were also Present.
