Syed Ali Geelani rejects Govt’s probe into Handwara killing

‘Probes are mere eyewashes’

Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani condemned the Handwara massacre wherein another boy killed by forces today and injured women succumbs as well and called for a complete shutdown across the Valley on 14th April tomorrow and appealed people in general and Immams and Khateebs in particular to protest on Frida after prayers and to take pledge for taking this noble struggle to its logical end.Geelani termed the killing of innocents as ‘the worst kind of state terrorism and has rejected the probe or inquiry ordered by Mehbooba Mufti govt.He held Mehbooba Mufti responsible for such heinous crime and said people of Kashmir have seen many such committees and probes that end ended up in mere eyewashes in the past as well.Terming, the statement of army general where he expressed the regret on killing is just a cruel joke, Geelani said these trigger happy forces massacred people of Kashmir since decades.

In his statement to KNS, he critisises and lambasted the Indian media the way turned blind eye on such incidents and even not bothered to show captioned view on such brutal killings by Indian forces.He said through their biased reporting they misleading millions of viewers in India and across the world and hiding brutal and barbaric face of Indian forces and termed it shameless journalism.Moreover, on his directions a delegation comprising of Dr Ghulam Hassan Malik, Mohd Yousuf lone visited to the bereaved family Handwara and participated in funerals to express the solidarity and pain which we have gone through.Mean while, doctors advised Syed Ali Geelani a complete rest and insisting him to stop interacting with people for some time on precautionary grounds said spokesman Ayaz Akber.Hurriyat (G) spokesman further added and appealed the people to pray for Geelani’s health and insists people not to pay any heed to the rumors of agencies.
