Div Com reviews pace of developmental works in old City

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a meeting to review various ongoing developmental works in Old City of Srinagar.

During the meeting , the Div Com directed the concerned officers to speed up the pace of work on all developmental projects being carried out in Khanyar and Nowhatta areas in Shahr-i-Khaas.Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Sub Divisional Magistrate East Srinagar, Tehsildar Khanyar and officer from Youth Services and Sports Srinagar were present in the meeting.On the occasion, the Div Com was briefed about the demands of community marriage halls for Khanyar and Nowhatta areas.The Div Com  directed for transfer of portion of land from Radapora Stadium for the construction of the Marriage hall. He also instructed the concerned on maintenance of the stadium and under construction pavilion.Dr Samoon also discussed about the need to shift the shopkeepers, operating with their kiosks in Jamia Masjid park. He said the alternate site for the shopkeepers will be shortly identified. The meeting also discussed the issues pertaining to the drainage system of Old Srinagar and its maintenance.
