Two youths killed allegedly in army firing in Handwara

Two youths were killed after government forces opened fire upon a group of people who were protesting against the alleged molestation attempt at Handwara in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Tuesday afternoon.Official sources told news agency GNS that scores of youth took to streets at main chowk Handwara after a soldier of army's 21 RR tried to molest a girl in the area.As the clashes turned violent in the area, the army opened fire to disperse the protesting youth. However, in the incident at least six persons sustained injuries.All the injured were immediately shifted to District Hospital Handwara where a youth Nayeem Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat of Harpora, Handwara succumbed to injuries.Another critically injured youth Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of Bumhama, Kupwara was shifted to Srinagar hospital, however, he too succumbed to injuries.When reports last came in, the situation was tense in the area.
