DDC Anantnag chairs DLIMC meeting

To promote rural development and strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions in the district, a district level Implementation and Monitoring Committee (DLIMC) meeting was today held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Muneer-ul-Islam here at DC office complex.The meeting discussed district plan for Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan besides took stock of arrangements made for celebration of Panchayat Raj Day in the district.The meeting was attended by ADC Anantnag, Mr. Muhammad Younis Malik, CPO Anantnag, Mr. M Y Bhat, and district officers of Education, Rural Development, Agriculture and other concerned departments.The monitoring committee finalized the District plan for celebration of Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan which is aimed to boost social harmony in the villages and fostering farmer welfare.It was given out  in the meeting that during the Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan, social harmony programme to foster unity and social equity would be held from April 14 to April 16 at each Panchayat  of the district, besides from April 17 to  April 20 Village Kissan Sabhas shall be organized to sensitize people about the various schemes of Agriculture, Horticulture and other allied sectors.The meeting also informed that from April 21 to April 24 Gram Sabha and special Mahila Sabha would be held at every Panchayat to finalize Gram Panchayat Development Plan on National Panchayat Day.The DDC directed the officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements at every Panchayat of the district. He said that the main objective of the celebrations is to improve the socio economic conditions of people by providing people a platform to participate in the decision making and involvement in the implementation of welfare schemes.
