First Lady inaugurates “Lived Spaces” painting exhibition at Kala Kendra

Usha Vohra, First Lady, inaugurated “Lived Spaces” a painting exhibition by Dr. Milan Sharma, Faculty Member of Institute of Music and Fine Arts, at the Sansar Chand Gallery in Kala Kendra, here this evening.The First Lady, who went round the Exhibition and evinced keen interest in the artistic creations, observed that painting is an art form which provides beautiful expression to past memories, reflects the present and reflects the future.Mrs. Vohra observed that for inherent reasons, viewing any artistic creation evokes subjective responses. Lauding Dr. Milan Sharma, First Lady said that her paintings, done in oil on canvas, are to be appreciated for the connectivity of thought and meaningful exposition. She complimented Dr. Sharma for providing colourful expressions to women oriented themes in her paintings and wished her many years of creative artistic work ahead.Mrs. Priya Sethi, MoS Culture, appreciated Dr. Sharma for depicting women oriented themes and appealed to the society to support art and artists who give meaningful expressions to the culture of any area.Ms. Promila Manhas, Lecturer Girls Higher Secondary School, Canal Road, Jammu, presented the Welcome Address while Dr. Milan Sharma gave the Vote of Thanks, on the occasion. Among those present on the occasion were Mr. Soujanya Sharma, Administrator Kala Kendra; Prof. Poonam Choudhary, Director Centre for Studies in Museology; artists, writers, academicians, art lovers and prominent citizens.
