Asiea Naqash for effective implementation of welfare schemes at Grassroot level

Minister of State for Health and Medical Education ,Housing and Urban development and Social Welfare Asiea Naqash today stressed on  making concerted efforts to ensure effective  implementation of Centrally  and state sponsored Schemes at the grass root level so that the envisaged benefits reach the targeted populace.The Minister was speaking at a meeting convened to review the functioning of Social Welfare department here today.While taking a review of the functioning of the ICDS, Marriage Assistance Scheme, Hunar and other Schemes, the Minister stressed on creating mass awareness about these programmes so that people can avail their benefits.

She said that the Department of Social Welfare has been entrusted with an important task of ameliorating the socio economic profile of the people and it becomes imperative that dedicated efforts are made in this direction to achieve tangible results. With a view to further streamline functioning of ICDS centres the Minister asked the concerned officers to take adequate steps for equipping these centers with modern facilities.She stressed upon the officers to adopt a proactive approach in implementing welfare schemes so that the goals envisaged in these schemes are realized. Secretary Social welfare, Sanjeev Verma, Director Social welfare Kashmir, Hasmat Itoo, Director Social welfare Jammu Veer Ji Hangloo, MD SC, ST OBC Corporation Y P Suman, Secretary SC Board, Secretary OBC Board and other officials were present in the meeting.
