Taking a dig at Arvind Kejriwal for anti Punjab stand of Delhi government in the ongoing case in the Supreme Court on the SYL issue, Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia said that Kejriwal has played dual politics and betrayed the farmers of Punjab. He said that Punjabis have always taught a befitting lesson to the traitors and Kejriwal will meet the same fate in Punjab. While addressing a gathering at village Bagga on the occasion of distribution of grants worth Rs 2.29crore for the development of village KhedeBalaChak,Ganshampura and Bagga, Mr. Majithia said that on the one hand Kejriwal opposed SYL while he was in Punjab and on the other side in the the Supreme Court he has put in his might to build the canal. He said that Kejriwal should not make the mistake of considering the people of Punjab as fools. He said that by taking two different stands on the same issue, Kejriwal is displaying extreme opportunism and parochial politics. He said that SYL is not any political or legal issue for Punjabis but it is breathing artery of Punjab. He said that not we need to look at the stand of AAP leadership and observe whether they support the anti-Punjab attitude of Kejriwal or listen to the voice of their conscience and stand in favor of farmers of Punjab.

Mr. Majithia said that the state has not even a single drop of spare water that can be shared with other states. He said that Punjab is already facing scarcity of canal waters and to fulfill the need of water, tube wells are being dug, which in turn has adversely affected groundwater level. He said that in such a scenario if any decision comes in contrast to Riparian principle, the people of the state will not tolerate it. He said that Mr. Parkash Singh Badal is the real custodian of canal waters as he took firm stand on the issue and after getting the bill passed in the Assembly, he ensured the return of land to the farmers, free of cost. He further said that demolishing the piau adjoining a Gurudwara in Delhi and giving no representation whatsoever to any Sikh in his cabinet exposes the anti-sikh thinking of Kejriwal. He said that in the past 9 years Mr. Parkash Singh Badal has taken to the state to the heights of development where asKejriwal is engaged in useless, ineffectual publicity and has failed to spend more than 3 thousand crore of central funds for the development of Delhi.Earlier, Mr. Majithia laid the foundation stone of the dozens of development projects.
