The suspension of dialogue between India and Pakistan for resolution of the pending issues has mainstream political parties worried as they say that the absence of peace between the two neighbours impacts the situation in the state. While National Conference said that it has put PDP to test, the State Congress blamed BJP for the suspension of dialogue.National Conference said that the suspension of dialogue is very unfortunate. “Absence of peace between India and Pakistan directly impacts the situation in Jammu and Kashmir,” NC provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani told KNS.He said that PDP had sold the dreams of dialogue and peace to the people in the state and “now people will see how the party being in alliance with BJP impresses upon the Government of Indian to resume the talks with Pakistan”.State Congress unit president G A Mir blamed Narendra Modi-led NDA for the suspension of dialogue.

Mir told KNS that the dialogue process was bound to fail because the Prime Minister Modi had not taken any one in the country on board while deciding about dialogue with Pakistan.“Modi took unplanned and hasty steps over the resumption of dialogue with Pakistan. It was a one man decision. No one was taken on board. Neither the country nor Parliament or the opposition,” Mir told KNS.He said that Congress supports the dialogue with Pakistan for the resolution of all issues because dialogue “is the only way” to resolve issues.”Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit Thursday said the dialogue process with India had been suspended and there was no question of allowing an NIA team to visit Islamabad to probe the Pathankot attack."There is no meeting scheduled for now. I think at present the peace process is suspended. India is not ready as yet," Basit said, but quickly added that "we can only resolve issues through dialogue". (KNS)
