Jagdeep Singh LCET student broke the 12 year old record of PTU

Students  of Ludhiana College of Engineering & Technology excelled in the I.K.G.P.T.U Annual Athletic meet held R.I.E.T, Railmajra, Ropar in which the colleges affiliated to P.T.U participated and competed and in that event . The record in the 800 m race was broken after 12 years by LCET student  Jagdeep singh who completed this race in 2:03:16:minutes being the least among all and created a new record and he performed brilliantly in the other events as well and scored a gold medal in 400m race among all the contestants in the race from all over the colleges affiliated to I.K.G.P.T.U. Furthermore, the track was rough and uneven, this added a few milliseconds to his completion, if it were a synthetic track, he would have touched a new horizon by making a record which could not be broken for decades. 

Previously he had reached to semifinals in inter university competition held at Punjabi University Patiala on 29 dec 2015 to 03 jan 2016. Besides Jagdeep Singh Sumit Rana also won Bronze medal in 200 meter race.Vijay Gupta, Chairman, LCET while honoring the students congratulated them for their remarkable achievement. He further urged students to work with enthusiasm and dedication in sports activities. According to him sports has provided unique opportunity for young students from all over the country to come together & compete with each other to attain higher and higher levels of sporting excellence. Playing the game and playing well is what sport is all about. Sports  is one such domain where if proper boost is given children showcase immense talent and potential.
