A meeting of officers of various departments and members of Baisakhi Mela Committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner  Angrez Singh Rana to discuss the arrangements for celebration of the historic 3-day Baisakhi Mela from April 13 at the sacred Devika Ghat Detailed discussions with regard to the arrangements for security, drinking water and power supply, barricading, First-aid, sanitation,  Duggar Sanskriti cultural programme and performing of Aarti were held and directions were issued to concerned officers to  make adequate  arrangements well in time.It was informed in the meeting  that Aarti of Devika Maa would also be performed by the artist of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan at the scared Devika Ghat in the evening during the mela days.

For the awareness of common masses about the different government sponsored schemes especially designed to ameliorate the socio-economic status of poor people, the departments of Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Tourism, Handloom and Handicrafts were directed to  put up their departmental stalls at the venue.Project Officer DRDA, Dr. Jagdish Mehra, CEO MC Chalotra, CAHO, Dr. K.L Gupta,  XEN PHE, PWD, CAO, District Heads of various department, Tehsildar Udhampur, President Devika Baisakhi Mela Committee, Chairman Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, M.L Dogra, Managing Director,  Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, V.K Magotra, President Beopar Mandal, Surinder Khalsa  were also present for the meeting.
