Punjab is witnessing major infrastructural revolution with Rs. 32 thousand 275 crore spent till date on providing a world class road infrastructure and also the main cities are being connected with 4 laned and 6 laned roads. This was disclosed by Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal at village gochar on the occasion of laying foundation of strengthening and widening of 31.70 kilometer long road from “Sri Satguru Brahmsagar Bhuri Wale Marg” tibba tapprian-dhamana-jatwahar-jhandian-kangar-hyattpur-kahanpur khoohi.Deputy Chief Minister said that Punjab is the first state in the country to have bridges constructed to ease in commuting on main roads and over bridges constructed on 95 percent railway crossings. He also disclosed that the project of widening Sri satguru brahmsagar bhuri wale marg would be completed in 4 months benefitting 40 villages of the area.  

S. Badal also said that a sum of Rs. 2000 crore is being spent on 4 laning of road from Rupnagar to Phagwara besides spending Rs. 600 crore on widening of 18 feet road from Banga to Sri Anandpur Sahib and Mata Naina Devi to the extent of 33 feet. He also announced that the villages of state  facing scarcity of drinking water, would be connected with rural water supply bodies. Disclosing more, he said that in the coming 4 months, state government would provide employment to 1,25,000 youth and 10000 youth would be recruited in the police force. On the issue of skill training, Deputy Chief Minister said that 2 skill centers each would be opened in every block and each skill center would have the capacity to train 1000 youth.Deputy Chief Minister said that Punjab witnessed rapid development only when SAD-BJP government was at the helm and congress which ruled the state for so long, can’t list even a single achievement.

Lambasting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Deputy Chief Minister said that this party has no existence in Punjab and its convenor Arvind Kejriwal cannot feel the pulse of the masses. He said that people of Punjab would not fall into kejriwal’s trap as they have given a befitting reply to outsiders.Addressing gathering on this occasion, Industries and Commerce Minister, Punjab Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal said that there was a long pending demand from the people for the widening of the road. Cautioning people to be beware of forces inimical to the peace of Punjab, he said that people should thwart the nefarious designs of such forces.

Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that Sri satguru brahmsagar bhuri wale road is the lifeline of the villages falling in this region and its widening would be beneficial for people of other districts too. He also welcomed into the partyfold around 2 dozen prominent people of village rouli and jhinjri who had left congress.

In his address to the people on the occasion, Lok Sabha MP Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has always fought for protecting the interests of Punjab and the state government has executed pro-people welfare schemes for the betterment of the state. Disclosing further, he said that the Punjab Government has decided to give 50 percent subsidy on barbed wire fencing in order to enable farmers of the region to secure their crops against onslaught of wild animals.

On this occasion, Swami Chetnanand Bhuri Wale and SGPC Member Mr. Amarjit Singh Chawla also addressed the gathering. Prominent among those who were present were Public Works Department Minister S. Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Chief Parliamentary Secetary Chaudhuri Nand Lal, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Karunesh Sharma, SSP Mr. Varinder Pal Singh, Former Minister Bibi Satwant Kaur Sandhu, SGPC Member S. Paramjit Singh Lakhewal and leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP.
