CRPF promotes culture, peace, rewards Kashmiri Artists

In order to acknowledge and promote the unique culture of Kashmir and to assist Schools in developing IT-Infrastructure in their institutions, 161 BN CRPF Wednesday organized one of the most melodious and colourful Civic Action Program at Khonakhan Mohalla, Srinagar. Through this event, CRPF provided a distinguished platform to Kashmiri Folk Artists and Musicians like “Kashmir Valley Music & Dance Group” and “Ghulam Muhammad Ahangar & Party” to showcase their performances before audience.In a statement issued to KNS, CRPF spokesman said that the event was presided over by Sanjeev Dhundia, DIG CRPF Srinagar (North) and was organized under overall supervision of Ashish Kumar Jha, Commandant 161 BN CRPF. 

The spectators to the event were fascinated by the dazzling performances of Ghulam Ahangar Party’s Chaste Kashmiri Melodies accompanied with classical instruments like Rubab, Gharha and Sarangi. “Kashmir Valley Music & Dance Group” rocked the dais with their outstanding performances. Besides School Children of Presentation Co-Education School, Khonakhan presented ‘Naat’ and folk songs like “Lola Bario” on the occasion. Portraying art of celebrations in Kashmiri society, they also performed Kashmiri “Rouf” dance on the occasion. Modern Musical instruments like Casio Synthesizer, Octapad, Soundboxes and Congo etc. were also donated to “Kashmir Dance & Music Group”, for they had sustained huge loss of Musical Instruments during floods of September 2014. Besides, Computers, Peripheral Devices, Furniture, Musical Instruments and other Infrastructural equipments were donated to Presentation Co-Education School, Khonakhan and Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowpora.”

Pukhraj Jaipal, DIG GC CRPF, Srinagar, GD Pandarinath, Commandant 82 BN CRPF, V.S. pandey, Commandant 132 BN CRPF, S.K Singh, Commandant 25 BN CRPF, Rajesh Kumar, Commandant 44 BN CRPF, Raghuvansh Kumar, Commandant 28 BN CRPF, Narendra Paul, Commandant 117 BN CRPF, Sajjad Khalid, Supdt of Police (North Srinagar), Ejaz Ahmad, SDPO Khanyar, J&K Police, Mohammad Yusuf, SDPO MR Ganj, J&K Police,Other Senior Officers of C.R.P.F Media persons and prominent Citizens of the locality also graced the occasion with their presence.While addressing students and media persons on the significance of IT education in modern times, Dhundia said- “Through our civic action programs we (CRPF) are unremittingly trying to generate awareness about cultural values of this paradise. Also we intend to provide infrastructural support to such schools where students are aspiring for a bright future. We shall continue to organize such events where cultural features of Kashmir are promoted and hidden talent of people is portrayed on a right platform.Voicing his opinion on Police-Public relations he said - “Whenever the people of Kashmir will need us, we’ll extend the best of our help to them in whatever way we can.”

Highlighting the role of CRPF in modern times in his address, Ashish Kumar Jha, Commandant 161 BN CRPF said- “Being a Public Servant and a responsible CRPF Officer, it is my duty to spread harmony and brotherhood all around. We’re not merely to protect you, but also to preserve you in all respects.”The noble gesture of 161 BN C.R.P.F was gratefully lauded by the prominent citizens of the locality, Journalists, Musicians, Artists, and School Administrations. In closing stage, Khurshid Ahmad, Principal Presentation CO-Ed School, Khonakhan Mohalla expressed his gratitude towards CRPF and Jenab Ghulam Hassan, Vice Principal, Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowpora, Srinagar proposed vote of thanks to Sanjeev Dhundia, DIG C.R.P.F Srinagar (North) and Ashish Kumar Jha, Commandant 161 BN C.R.P.F for this auspicious privilege and noble act of CRPF.In another similar event, 49 BN CRPF also organized a Civic Action Program in Noorbag Govt. Middle School where Computer, Accessories and other infrastructural items were donated to school. The event was presided over by Pukhraj Jaipal, DIG GC CRPF Srinagar and was organized under overall supervision of Vikas Choudhary, Second-in-Command 49 BN CRPF. The contribution and noble gesture of CRPF towards students of Kashmir was highly appreciated by School Administration and locals of the area. In closing stage, Principal, Noorbag Govt. Middle School proposed vote of thanks to 49 BN CRPF for taking this noble initiative. (KNS)
