Governor reviews roads upgradation in and around Katra; Shrine Board projects

Governor N. N. Vohra, who is Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, visited Katra today to inspect the progress of the Board’s various ongoing major infrastructural development projects including operationalisation of the 230-bedded Superspeciality Hospital, being established by the Shrine Board at Kakryal.The Governor was accompanied by Mr. B.R Sharma, Chief Secretary; Mr. B.B Vyas, Financial Commissioner Planning and Development Department; Mr. K. Rajendra, DGP; Mr. Pradip K. Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Governor; Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer of Shrine Board; Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Mrs. Sushma Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Mr. Surinder Kumar, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range; Mr. Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi; engineers and other concerned officers.

The Governor took stock of the construction and upgradation of the approach roads to SMVDU and the Superspeciality Hospital including Domel-Katra, Panthal-Jhajjar, National Highway-1A to the Superspeciality Hospital, Tikri-Panthal-Katra Road, road from Railway Station, Katra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.The Governor also visited the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex at Katra to review its preparedness for operationalisation. This state-of-the-art Sports Complex has been completed at a cost of about Rs.11 crore.It is pertinent to mention that the Governor’s visit to Katra was to take stock of the preparedness for the upcoming Prime Minister of India’s visit to Katra for inauguration of the Super Speciality Hospital in April this year.
