Interactive session on ‘Role of SAC in Good Governance’ organized at JU

Jammu and Kashmir State Accountability Commission (SAC) today organized an interactive session with the students and faculty of Law, University of Jammu. The topic of the interactive session was “Role of State Accountability Commission in Good Governance”.NGOs, intellectuals, academicians and a good number of students participated in the session which was presided over by Justice (retd) Bashir Ahmad Khan, chairperson of the State Accountability Commission.Justice Khan thanked Jammu University for its cooperation in organizing the awareness programme. He said there is a need to make people aware of the State Accountability Commission Act.SAC chairperson called for arming the Commission with investigation and prosecution wings to make it fully functional.Justice Khan said people must come forward to play a pivotal role in fighting corruption and eradicating the menace from the society.Justice J P Singh, member State Accountability Commission, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof R D Sharma, Head and Dean Faculty of Law, University of Jammu, Prof Arvind Jasrotia also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the role of Accountability Commission in Good Governance.
