Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP government has initiated record development works under the leadership of Mr. Parkash Singh Badal during last 9 years. He said that during Congress regime of year 2002-07 only Rs. 22000 Crore were spent on development works whereas SAD-BJP government invested Rs. 1,28,637 Crore on development works from March 2007 to 2015.Mrs. Badal disclosed this here while addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stone of development works worth Rs 73 Crore in various wards of Bathinda city.She said that during congress regime only Rs 3010 Crore were spent on the development of Roads and bridges whereas SAD-BJP government has been investing Rs. 32000 Crore for linking every city and town of the state with 4 or 6 lane road. She further added that Congress spent only Rs. 1900 Crore for Urban development and Rs. 1100 Crore for rural development whereas SAD-BJP government has been investing Rs. 6000 Crore on urban and rural development.
On the SYL issue, Mrs. Badal said that Punjab always faced discrimination at the hands of successive congress governments but CM Parkash Singh Badal has taken historic decision by bringing bill in the house to dump this issue forever. She said that Punjab has not a single drop of water to donate it to other states.
Accusing AAP leader Kejriwal for opting dual policy on SYL issue, Mrs. Badal said that AAP Chief once again betrayed people by chaning his stand on the issue as per his political interests. She said that AAP was never more than a B-team of Congress as its leaders never took any strong action against corrupt Congress leaders of Delhi. She questioned that where were those proofs that AAP has claimed that it has against former Congress CM of Delhi and other leaders of Congress party? She said that SAD-BJP government has a mission to develop the state and on other hand AAP Chief Kejriwal preferred to spend Rs. 528 Crore of Delhi Government on publicity instead of investing this hard earned money to provide homes to homeless. She said that AAP has its no base in Punjab thus it will soon meet its end as PPP did.
Highlighting the performance of Prime Minister Narinder Modi led NDA government, Mrs. Badal said that India gained growth rate of 7.1 percent which was more than the countries like USA, China, and Germany etc. despite the fact that the whole world was witnessing economic slowdown. She said that the average global growth rate was 3.1 percent.Describing India as topmost country for attracting investment, Mrs. Badal said that foreign direct investment in India has reached the level of 38 percent. She said that PM Modi has proved the mettle of his policies and development initiatives worldwide. She said that UPA government has been known for its scams whereas NDA government has allotted Coal Mines and Spectrum in a transparent manner.Earlier, Mrs. Badal laid foundation stone of ‘One Stop Crisis Centre’ for women worth Rs 35 Lac at civil lines besides laying foundation stone of development works in the various wards of Bathinda city.Prominent amongst others, Mr. Sarup Chand Singla, CPS, Dr. Basant Garg, Deputy Commissioner Bathinda, Mr. Swapn Sharma, SSP Bathinda, Mrs. Parampal Kaur Sidhu, ADC (General), Mr. Balwant Rai Nath, Mayor Municipal Corporation, Mrs. Gurwinder Kaur Mangat, Deputy Mayor, Mr. Anil Kumar Garg, Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Mohit Gupta, District President BJP and Dr. Om Parkash Sharma, District Press Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal were also present on this occasion.
