DC flags off awareness rally under CCDU

Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today flagged off rally of vehicles for making public announcement and generate social mobilization on Water and Sanitation.The rally was organized by the Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCUD) in collaboration with National Development Foundation (NDF) which is programme implementing agency for Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts.SE, Hydraulics Circle Ashok Gandotra, Executive Engineer PHE (Civil) Sumit Puri, Engineers and locals were present on the occasion.Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, while speaking on the occasion, said that the initiative was aimed to educate people especially   in rural areas to   conserve water and improve sanitation for creating better living environment in their respective areas. He directed the PHE functionaries to ensure reach of this message to every village of the district.

He said that awareness about water sanitation, conservation and its judicious use is an important component of National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) which is being implemented in letter and spirit by the PHE Department. He also asked the Panchayat functionaries to work in close coordination with the PHE department for better management and proper utilization of water resources.SE, Hydraulics Circle Kathua Ashok Gandotra informed that the fleet of vehicles will cover all villages in each  tehsil  of the district  to spread the message of water conservation, means and its essence for maintaining   disease free environment.
