DC Pulwama inaugurates Sericulture Kisan Mela

Sericulture Development Department Pulwama organized one-day Kisan Mela cum awareness camp at Nikas Pulwama today under centrally sponsored scheme Advance Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in which 200 Silk Worm rearers participated.District Development Commissioner, Niraj Kumar, while inaugurating the function urged the rearers to use the latest technology to increase the Cocoon production in the district. He said the need of the hour is to focus and expand the professional skills of silk worm farmers.Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director Sericulture Development Department informed that efforts are being made to modernize the department so that the progressive farmers will get good quality seeds and marketing facilities.On the occasion the Deputy Commissioner while having deliberations with progressive farmers said, all the Mulberry Nurseries in the district would be fenced and registered under revenue records so that a proper mechanism for their upliftment is made.On this occasion officers and officials of allied department and large number of people were present.
