Mega Kisan Mela held at Keller Shopian

A Kisan Mela cum Exhibition was held at Keller Shopian today in which as many as 15 stalls of Agriculture and allied Departments were set-up show casing high yielding vegetable seeds & other crops. The camp was inaugurated by the MLA Shopian.Around 400 farmers of Sub-Division participated in the mela. During which experts of Agriculture Department gave awareness to the farmers for enhancing production by adopting latest technology & use of high yielding varieties, organic farming besides the techniques of using fertilizers judiciously for sustainable Agriculture.On this occasion MLA stressed upon the farmers to take benefits of such Kisan Melas, Awareness Programmes & use the latest technology & high yielding varieties to increase production.Earlier, the Chief Agriculture Officer, Shopian highlighted various schemes being carried out by the department.
