Dr Samoon reviews construction of Red Cross Bhawan in Srinagar

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Tuesday reviewed the progress of construction of upcoming Red Cross Bhawan in Srinagar.The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer (R&B), Satish Razdan, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone, besides officers from the concerned departments.It was given out in the meeting that the state government has identified the land for construction of Red Cross Bhawan near the BSNL office in Srinagar. Mr Razdan told the meeting that the draft proposal and sketches for the construction of twin-storied building has been prepared, keeping in view the protection from floods. He said that the final draft plan of the building will be handed over to Divisional Commissioner's Office in few days for approval.The Divisional Commissioner said that he would take up the matter with higher authorities and urge for quick disbursement of funds so that the process of construction can be taken up at the earliest. He said as soon as draft plan is received, it will be sent to Raj Bhawan for final approval and the construction shall be started at the earliest.
