As the government formation between PDP and BJP in the state seems certain after a “positive” meeting of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the opposition parties are asking the two parties to explain the reasons of delaying the government for over two months. The opposition political parties said that since the PDP is “readying for wearing the crown” on no new assurances from the central government, why did the two alliance partners waste precious time when the planning about development and financial matters is decided for a financial year.National Conference said that PDP has the responsibility to explain to the people why Mehbooba Mufti delayed the government formation for more than two months.“BJP has refused to continue the alliance on new conditions. So what did the PDP get new that they have called the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as positive,” NC provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani told KNS.“On behalf of people, NC wants to know what Mehbooba Mufti exactly wanted from Government of India that she delayed the government formation with BJP. Was it for fulfilling her personal ego or for just for political posturing that she caused the delay,” Wani said.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president G A Mir said that people and political parties in the state need to know what transpired in “secret” meetings between PDP and BJP which seem ready now for continuing their alliance.“Government formation between PDP and BJP is good but on which conditions and new things PDP seems to be ready to continue the alliance. They must explain to the people and political parties here,” Mir told KNS.“Why did PDP delay the government formation for over two months when the party is ready to worship the “sacred” document of Agenda of alliance on which they wanted assurance and timeframe form their coalition partner,” he said.Mir said that people of the state cannot be considered as “slaves” and their fate will be sealed in few minutes of meeting PDP president and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.CPI (M) State Secretary and legislator from Kulgam, M Y Tarigami said that though the alliance between PDP and BJP had not broken up at anytime, yet its continuance does not provide anything new to celebrate about.Tarigami said that PDP had delayed the government formation reportedly for CBMs and implementation of their ‘Agenda of Alliance’ in ‘timeframe’ from BJP.“Now, there is nothing new to celebrate about,” Tarigami, one of the senior legislators, told KNS.
