Demanding for impartial investigation by some independent international agency into the mass murder of Sikhs at Chattisinghpora, Hurriyat (G) said that Indian occupational forces are involved in serious kinds of war crimes in Jammu & Kashmir and unless these massacres are investigated by some independent organization, the human lives in this region will continue to remain in threat and the massacres will continue to repeat here. Hurriyat (G) delegation comprising of deputy secretary general Haji Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Ashiq Hussain Narchour and Manzoor Ahmad Gazi visited Chattisinghpora and participated in the conference there which was organized in the memory of cold blooded murder of 36 Sikh brothers about 16 years back. Hurriyat (G) leaders met with the families of the killed persons and assured them that Hurriyat Conference stands with them in their demand for the stern punishment to the killers.

While speaking on the occasion, the Hurriyat Deputy Secretary General Ghulam Nabi Sumji said that the government had although announced to hold a fair investigation into the Chattisinghpora bloodshed but this announcement proved to be just a hoax and after the completion of 16 years, the justice still elude the Sikh brothers and the killers are roaming free. Neither has been any army official booked nor was anybody arrested so far.Sumji said that the Indian army is misusing the AFSPA and DAA like black laws which are in force in Jammu & Kashmir and nobody cares about those people who are suffering due to their atrocities. Hundreds of such cases are pending in which the culprits had been identified but they cannot be produced in the civil courts. Same is the case with the Chattisinghpora bloodshed. 36 innocent and unarmed civilians were killed for no fault of theirs and nobody has been booked or arrested so far due to the AFSPA.

Hurriyat Deputy Secretary General said that the Sikhs and Muslims are unsafe at the hands of the Indian army and these two communities are treated as second class citizens. Like Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab too had witnessed hundreds of massacres and bloodsheds but no justice was provided to them too and nor were the murderers put to task.Sumji in his address further said that it is high time for the Muslims and Sikhs to stand united against the Brahman imperialistic power and fight the sinister designs of the communal forces. On the occasion many prominent Sikh leaders too addressed the gathering and demanded impartial investigation into the Chattisinghpora mass murder and punishment to the killers. The Sikh leaders also thanked the Hurriyat Conference (G) that they stood with the Sikh community in the hardest time and extended their moral help at every platform.Hurriyat (G) also played a leading role in highlighting the Chattisinghpora incident. The Hurriyat and the Sikh leaders in today’s event reiterated their collective demand that the Chattisinghpora bloodshed should be investigated by some international organization and the involved personals should be brought to justice.
