As per the decision taken in a meeting held at Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) headquarters here, a delegation led by party’s general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari will participate in the ‘Pakistan Day’ function to be held at Pak High Commission in New Delhi on March 23.In a statement to KNS, a DFP spokesperson said it was decided that Moulana Tari will felicitate Pak High Commissioner Abdul Basit on the occasion and convey party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah’s special message vis-à-vis Kashmir issue besides thank him on behalf of the people of Kashmir.“Moulana Tari sahib will also thank the Pakistani leadership, its people, military, and religious and political organisations for their unrelenting support to Kashmir cause. He will also convey his good hopes that Pakistan will continue its political, moral, and diplomatic support to Kashmiris besides meet the ailing Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani sahib to enquire about his health condition,” he said.

Meanwhile, Moulana Abdullah Tari condemned the slapping of “fabricated” charges by the so-called administration against the members of Muslim League Jammu Kashmir including Hakeem Showkat, Mehraj-ud-din, Manzoor Ahmad, and Muhammad Younis.“To book those believing in peaceful political activism under such baseless charges reveals that state administration is hell bent to put a blanket ban on the political activities of pro-freedom leaders in the state and deny them any political space,” he said.Tari said nowhere in the world is political voice suppressed by military might but “India is openly using black laws to suppress the voices based on justice, which is unconstitutional”.“It is unfortunate that world watches as mute spectator over the reign of oppression and terror unleashed upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir by India. The world leadership must break its criminal silence and fulfill its responsibility of stopping India from committing atrocities in Kashmir,” DFP general secretary said. (KNS)
