Dr. Ambedkar’s 125th Birth Anniversary Be Jointly Celebrated By 39 SC Sub- Casts & Other Communities

Various 39 sub casts belonging to schedule cast categories and other communities today decided to jointly celebrate the 125th birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on a massive level across the State. The schedule for various kinds of programs to be organized in this regard through out the year has also bee framed. Decision in this regard has been taken in the high level meeting today in the Chairmanship of Rajesh Bagha, Chairman Punjab State Schedule Cast Commission and patron  of Dr. .B.R. Ambedkar  125th  Jayanti Utsav Committee, Punjab.It was disclosed by President of the Committee  Mr. Des Raj Kali.

Patron of the Committee Bagha said that this is for the first time in the history of Punjab that 39 sub-casts belonging to Schedule Casts category and various others social and student organizations have converged on a single platform to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of the architect of Indian Constitution Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Giving detail of the series of programmes which would be organized through out the year he said that seminars, lectures, quiz contest, declamation contest on the philosophy of Baba Sahib would be organized in school, colleges and universities. He said that the basic purpose of the celebrations would be to disseminate the message of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar to the younger generations.

He said that it has recorded in the annals of history Baba Sahib came to Punjab in 1951 and he delivered lecture in D.A.V. College Jalandhar. In this lecture, he propounded the importance parliamentary democracy, political morality,importance of healthy opposition and free & unbiased election for the future of democratic country.He said that during the series of seminars all these aspects of parliamentary democracy would be discussed in context of contemporary  political set-up of the country.

Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal, Chiarman B.R. Ambedkar 125th  Jayanti Utsav Committee, Punjab said that the commotee has decided to organize one event in collaboration of Arya Samaj. He said that basic theme of the event would be to revisit the Ambedkars’s caste-less society.President of the committee Mr. Des Raj Kali said that one State level function would also be organized in collaboration of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee. He said that Dr,. B.R. Ambedkar had thoroughly read Sri Guru Granth Sahib and he based his writing on the human values upheld in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
