In connection with smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Yatra Ji Yatra-2016,  District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mr Muneer ul Islam today reviewed the implementation of 5th report of the High Level Committee for SANJY-2016.The meeting was attended by ADC Anantnag, Mr. Muhammad Younis Malik, SSP Anantnag, CEO PDA, CMO Anantnag, Conservator Forests, SE R&B, SE PHE, Xens of I&FC and PDD, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, besides officers of Tourism, and other concerned departments.The meeting held threadbare discussions regarding the smooth conduct of annual Amarnath Yatra-2016 besides various aspects related to the commencement of Yatra. The meeting discussed various matters including registration of ponies, laborers, accommodation, medicare facilities, transport facilities, ration, boarding and lodging facilities, supply of drinking water, sanitation and cleanliness besides establishment of control rooms at all halting stations. ATM and communication facilities were also reviewed in the meeting.DDC directed all the concerned departments to submit their proposals of the new works to be executed for Yatra 2016 well before time and to convey the shortfalls, whatsoever be, into the notice of DDC Anantnag so that appropriate measures are taken before the commencement of Yatra. It was decided that a joint emergency operation centre at Chandanwari will be established to meet any eventuality during Yatra.

Regarding the construction and upgradation of alternate routes, CEO PDA was asked to take immediate measures in liaison with the security agencies for comprehensive and safe traffic management of Yatra. In the same vein, he was directed to install exit control gate at Pissu Top.The DDC stressed upon the concerned officers/agencies for making all arrangements in advance besides dumping of essential commodities, firewood and other Yatra related machines at identified spots. He directed PDA and R&B Department to start works on various routes as soon as possible so that Yatra 2016 gets underway smoothly. Besides he directed PDD to ensure inflatable lights at all camps.Regarding the supply of safe and adequate drinking water to pilgrims, Xen PHE assured that underground pipes at Pissu Top, Zojpal and various locations shall be laid by June 15, 2016.CMO Anantnag informed the meeting that four mortuary chambers along with post mortem facilities have been put in place in Pahalgam.
