International women’s day : JKLF stages peaceful protest

Women of Jammu Kashmir are the worst victims of Indian oppression and tyranny. Today when international community is observing international women’s day, the plight of Kashmiri women should also be taken into account and efforts should be made to save them from Indian oppression.In a statement to KNS, Yasin Malik said that Kashmiri women have suffered more than anybody during last many decades as she had to bear the onslaught of Indian oppression more than others. She suffered as a mother when his son got martyred or disappeared in custody, she suffered as a wife when her husband became target and she suffered as a woman when her chastity was attacked by trigger happy soldiers of India.Yasin Malik said sacrifices rendered by the women folk of Kashmir are a glorious page of our resistance history and today when international community along with India is observing the international women’s day, we want to ask them that don’t they consider Kashmiris as part of humanity. Doesn’t Kashmiris have same rights as other humans and don’t Kashmiri women fall in the category of those about whom international community is rising its voices today? 

He said that Indian rulers who claim to worship Sita, Parwati, Kali-Mata and Ganga have used attacks on chastity of women as a weapon of war and have dishonored women with impunity.He said that Kashmiri women are most honorable humans on the face of this world, their resilience, passion, and zeal is exemplary and beacon light for all of us. He said that international community should shun its double faced policy and should take steps to safeguard suffering women of Jammu Kashmir, who are physically, mentally, emotionally and socially being targeted and oppressed by Indian forces and their policies.Meanwhile JKLF staged a symbolic protest against atrocities on Kashmiri women. The protest program was headed by vice chairman JKLF advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and many seniors from JKLF and activists participated in it.The participants of the protest that was held at press enclave Srinagar displayed play cards depicting slogans against oppression against women and raised high pitched slogans in favor of freedom, martyrs and Kashmiri women.Speaking on the occasion JKLF vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt said that today we through this protest are raising our voices in favor of our sacred women who are showing matchless courage and passion and have been tolerating worst kind of oppression unleashed by Indian state.Butt said that JKLF respects and stands for women because this is our religious, moral and human duty. He said that on international human rights day, JKLF through this protest intends to send a message to the international community that Kashmiri women also need its support as they are the worst victims of Indian state sponsored oppression and violence.

While paying tributes to the women of Jammu Kashmir, Butt sahib said that that their passion, resilience, courage and continues struggle is our precious treasure and a great inspiration to the people fighting for the independence of Jammu Kashmir.Meanwhile JKLF has strongly condemned the continued detention of two brothers of Baramullah namely Farhan Fayaz and Ahsan Fayaz s/o Fayaz Ahmad Loloo. These young boys are languishing in SOG custody from a long time and SOG is forcing them to work as bonded labors in the said camp. They are constantly harassed, intimidated and physically, mentally and emotionally harassed by forces. JKLF strongly condemns this brutal inhuman behavior of SOG Baramullah and other forces and terms this as insult to humanity and civilized behaviors. (KNS)
