'Shipra Malik was crying, didn't wish to call police'

At about 1.15 a.m. on Friday, Shipra Malik, who went missing on Monday from her home in Noida, knocked on the door of a villager in Haryana and told him she had been kidnapped and then abandoned by her kidnappers."She was crying and afraid but said she did not want police help," Rakesh Kumar, sarpanch (head councillor) of Sultanpur village in Gurgaon district, told IANS.The woman, 29, a Noida-based fashion designer, had knocked on the doors of one Narendra Saini, not far from Sultanpur National Park Bird Sanctuary, about 14 km from Gurgaon city.She borrowed Saini's mobile phone to make a call to her husband, but revealed little about her identity, Rakesh Kumar said.Shipra told the villagers that she was kidnapped from a market in Noida in Uttar Pradesh on February 29, but could not say where she was kept blindfolded.She told the villagers she did not want police help. 

Rakesh Kumar said they were not aware that the matter was so sensitive."But we told her that we would have to inform Gurgaon police and so we called the police control room."A Gurgaon police team, headed by inspector Madhu, duly arrived in the village and the young woman was taken to Farukh Nagar police station."Around 2.30 am, family members of the victim reached the police station, along with Noida police, and she was handed over to them," a Gurgaon police spokesperson said.Shipra's husband Chetan Malik, a builder, had filed a police complaint with Noida police after she went missing on Monday.
