Urges Residents To Get These Cards Made On Priority Basis

For providing world class health facilities to its citizens, the Punjab government had started Bhagat Puran Singh Health Insurance Scheme and lakhs of families would be benefitted in Ludhiana district. This was informed by Punjab Irrigation Minister and Sahnewal MLA Sharanjit Singh Dhillon while addressing a series of Sangat Darshan programmes in 10 villages of Sahnewal constituency today. He informed that under this scheme, smart cards are being made and everyone should get them made on priority basis.

While addressing the villagers, Mr Dhillon stated that under this scheme, the smart card can be made by paying only Rs 30 and each card would have names of the head of family and four other family members. He said that the smart card holder family can avail of free medical facilities up to Rs 50,000 per annum. He further said that the card holders can take treatment from government as well as some private hospitals. Mr Dhillon urged the villagers that they should get these cards made by March 31, 2016.Today, the Sangat Darshan programmes were organised at villages Doaba Bhaini, Salu Bhaini, Keema Bhaini, Gahi Bhaini, Nathu Bhaini, Gujjarwal, Chaunta, Mand Chaunta, Niani and Ratangarh of the Sahnewal constituency.

Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that now, old age pension would be distributed by the village Sarpanch instead of a bank. He said that some people were facing problems while getting pension and when this matter came to the notice of Punjab government, it was decided that it would now be distributed personally by village Sarpanches. He said that the old age pension amount has also been doubled from Rs 250 to Rs 500.He assured all those present in the Sangat Darshan programmes that the Punjab government is committed for the overall development of the state. The Minister also told the villagers that there is no shortage of funds when it comes to development projects and that the opposition parties are merely involved in a false and misleading propaganda.
