Sharjah Arab Children Forum Registration Opens

The forum set to welcome and host Arab children from the pan-Arab and MENA region and kicks off on March 28

The General Department of Children Centres in Sharjah, a Department of the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, announced today that the registration for the 12th edition of the Sharjah Arab Children Forum (SCAF) is officially opened for all Arab children across the pan-Arab and MENA region who wish to enter and participate. The forum, organized by the General Department of Children Centres in Sharjah, will take place in Sharjah from March 28 to April 3 2016.Children can register for the forum through the event’s official website: http://children-centers.ae/shj/acf/ where participation requests are accepted until March 7, 2106.Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), and under the slogan “Hear us…we are the future”, the forum seeks to facilitate and empower Arab children’s voices, develop their talents, ignite them with a spirit to become stronger and more effective leaders, taking their society to great heights. 

The forum is the biggest event of its kind in the Arab and MENA region, and will host a series of workshops, seminars and discussion panels bringing entertainment, education and awareness to some the most critical and influential topics. The forum will grant access for Arab leaders and key Arab decision makers to witness the innovation and intellectual development bestowed in these children, and to consider taking initiatives in investing in them and investing in their developments.Reem BinKaram, Director of the General Department of Children Centres in Sharjah said, “All preparations for the SCAF 2016 are complete and we are pleased to announce that registration is now open for Arab children from all over the Arab and MENA region to participate in its 12th edition. The forum aims to encourage innovation, creativity and communication among children, as well as highlight the crucial role they play in shaping the future of their communities. Through this forum we aim to strengthen the ties and cooperation between Arab countries so that together they can support and uplift children and help them become future leaders of the world.”She added, “The forum focuses on developing and refining children's skills and providing them with enough care that will enable them to build a bright future. 

Children who are participating in the forum will be able to express themselves as well as discuss various issues with their peers from other Arab countries. There will also be workshops that help them develop their talents and capabilities.”BinKaram said the organizing committee of the forum has sent official invitations to all children centers in the UAE and across the Middle East. Invitations were also sent through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to embassies and consulates as well as to the Ministry of Education in order to find and register the most apt candidates with the right skills to present and discuss their ideas. A delegation from every Arab country participating in the forum will consist of two boys and two girls. Children must be between 8 to 12 years old and they will be accompanied by an official supervisor with a functional link to the Ministry of Education in their respective countries. The forum is a platform for Arab children from the pan-Arab and MENA region to meet and discuss various issues and exchange ideas and experiences with their peers in a secure environment. Children are an important section of society who play a significant role in shaping the present and future of our world. The forum spreads awareness about the importance of promoting a peaceful environment for the education of children as well as how to provide world-class education through proper facilities and services in order to nurture the skills and abilities.
