Arjuna Awardee and former S.P Sajjan Singh Cheema joins AAP

Former Punjab Police S.P and Arjuna Awardee Sajjan Singh Cheema today joined Aam Aadmi Party in Chandigarh in the presence of  AAP’s Punjab affairs in charge Sanjay Singh, AAP’s Punjab Convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Punjab co-convener Durgesh Pathak and Legal Cell head Himmat Singh Shergill. Welcoming Sajjan Singh Cheema into party fold, Sanjay Singh said that the party will make best use of his services. Born in 1957 in Dabulian village in Kapurthala district in Punjab Cheema represented India in 1982 Asian games in Basketball game. Cheema was awarded esteemed Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award in 1983. In year 1999, he was honored with Arjuna Award for his services in the fields of Sports.Addressing the media, Cheema said that he took VRS from his job and joined AAP to work for the society in a new capacity. He said that he will now work hard to shun drug menace in Punjab and attract youth towards Sports.
