Chairman LC, Advisor to Governor inspect ongoing work on New Legislature Complex in Jammu

Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali today inspected New Legislature Complex here to take stock of the ongoing work.  The new Legislature Complex is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 166.75 crore.Advisor to Governor Mr. Parvez Dewan accompanied the Chairman.The Chairman and the Advisor directed the Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC), executing agency of the project, to speed up the pace of work and complete it in a stipulated time-frame. While suggesting some modifications in the project, they directed the concerned to ensure use of standard material and judicious use of funds.

The Chairman and the Advisor were informed that the complex is coming up over an area of 252484 sft, comprising 6 floors, parking facilities, dispensary, canteen, office chambers for Chief Minister , press and visitors gallery, library,  assembly hall, Speaker’s and Deputy Speaker’s chambers, Law Minister and Finance Minister’s chambers, Leader of Opposition chamber and Chairman and Deputy Chairman chambers.Secretary, Legislative Council Mr. Abdul Majid Bhat, Managing Director, JKPCC Mr. Dileep Thusoo and other senior officers of Legislative Council Secretariat and JKPCC were present on the occasion.
