PDP leader Sunny Sangral meets SSP Vigilance

Complaint lodged against corruption cases in Samba

PDP leader Sunny Sangral today met SSP Vigilance R K Chalotra and lodged complaint against the embezzlements being done by the officials of Fisheries Department and Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Samba under different projects. He was accompanied by the people of Samba constituency.Sangral told the SSP that Fisheries Department has allotted fund of Rs 50,000 each to those people who doesn’t fulfill the criteria hence amounting to corruption and embezzlement. He cited the example of one Gourav, who is a school-going boy and have got a sum of Rs 50,000 to construct low cost house under Centrally sponsored scheme. Gourav is son of Hari Chand, who is Personal Assistant to MLA Samba Yash Pal Kundal.

To have the benefit of scheme one has to be a poor person hailing from backward community and also need five years of registration as fisherman. He questioned that how a school-going student can fulfill this criteria.  He mentioned that like Gourav several other beneficiaries are also blue-eyed hence depriving the genuine persons.Sangral also highlighted the issue of Pancholi-Deon road project in Purmandal block. He told that crores of rupees have been embezzled by the contractor. The project comes under under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna (PMGSY).The contractor has got the entire amount of 3.5 crore but the road has not been completed till date. Out of the total sanctioned amount merely few lakhs have been spent on the work. People of the village took up the matter with PMGSY officials but they even refused to interfere.

Meanwhile PDP leader alleged that whenever anyone in the village have raised question over the misappropriation of funds by the powerful local contractors having close links with the politician, they have been threatened.“People are fed up with the all round corruption in the Samba constituency and role of MLA, Yashpal Kundal in wrongdoing in the distribution of contracts. If government takes no action, we will launch mass agitation against the MLA”, Sangral said.The SSP Vigilance assured the deputation led by Sangral of prompt inquiry into the complaints so that culprits, if found any, would be booked under law.  Those who accompanied Sangral included Panch of Pancholi Gopal Dass, Anil Singh, Showkat Ali, Lamaderbar of Pancholi Showkat and others.
