Pampore, adjacent areas shut on 2nd consecutive against militant killings

‘No clashes reported throughout the day’

A complete shutdown was observed for the second consecutive day on Wednesday in Pampore and adjacent areas of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the killing of three militants in a gunfight with forces that ended after 50 hours on Monday afternoon.According to eye-witnesses, all shops and business establishments were closed while traffic was off the roads in Pampore, Frestbal, Sempora and Pantha Chowk areas.The locals informed KNS that no clashes were reported throughout the day.The three militants were holed up in a five -storey government building in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district for 50 hours and were killed on Monday afternoon.Earlier, militants attacked the CRPF convoy coming from Jammu-Srinagar; resulted in the killing of two CRPF personnel while nine others sustained injuries.The militants after attacking convoy hid in JKEDI building and were killed after three day.People living adjacent to the encounter site were praising the militants via Masjid loudspeakers while “Jago Jago Subah Huwi” anthem in Local Masjids continued for hours in the areas.
