Action will be initiated against officials remaining absent during meetings : D.S.Mangat

Strict action against officials will be taken who remains absent during monthly review meetings. As such, Official should ensure their presence in these meetings. This was directed by Deputy Commissioner Sh. D.S.Mangat while presiding over a meeting of district level road safety committee and reviewing the development works being carried out in the district and taking review of actions initiated to stop illegal mining.Deputy Commissioner directed the official to attend the meetings with full preparation and also advised them to take a prior review of development works of their respective departments and they should be able to answer every query in the meetings. 

During this he also directed to ensure timely completion of development works. He said that the development works should be completed within time and financial grant issued by Govt. should be utilised with full transparency. Any kind of negligence towards this will not be tenable. Before this while addressing the issue of illegal mining, he directed the General Manager –cum- Mining Officer to conduct surprise checking at mining sites so that illegal mining could be prevented and also directed to take strict action against defaulters. He further said that strict action should be initiated against the illegal crushers and they should be permanently sealed. During this he directed the officials present to ensure timely delivery of RTS services and other online services to facilitate the general public.

During this Deputy Commissioner while presiding over the district level road safety committee, said that a special campaign in schools and colleges will be initiated to generate awareness of traffic rules among students so that accidents could be prevented. During this he advised to follow the directions of Safe School Vahan  as it is as issued by Hon'ble Punjab & Haryana High Court. During this District Transport Officer Sh. Karan Singh said that surprise checking is being conducted in schools to ensure the compliance of the said directions for safe school vehicle. He said that traffic parks being established at Mohali wll be completed by March end. Deputy Commissioner also directed to ensure submission of remaining utilisation certification of MPLAD works within week.

During this Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Smt. Poonamdeep Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (General) Smt. Avneet Kaur,  Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Smt. Nayan Bhullar, SDM (Mohali) Sh. Lakhmeer Singh, SDM (Dera Bassi) Sh. Shiv Kumar, SDm (Kharar) Sh. Amninder Kaur Brar, SP (D) Sh. Gursharan Singh, SP Sh. Ashish Kapoor, Executive Engineer Public Health Sh. Sukhminder Singh Pandher,  District Education Officer Sh. Mewa Singh Sidhu and other officials of various departments were present.
