Y.P.S. Junior School Organises Annual Visual And Performing Arts Exhibition 2016

Yadavindra Public School, S.A.S Nagar, Junior School organised its Annual Visual and Performing Arts Exhibition here today. The children of Junior School displayed their creativity and artistic persona through spell-binding performances and awe-inspiring artefacts.During the current academic year, the children of Classes IV and V took up a hobby each out of the options offered. The various hobbies are – Word Master, Western Music, Indian Music, Theatre, Indian Folk Dance, Punjabi Folk Dance, Handicraft, Painting, French and Korean language, Pottery, Clay Modelling and Kids Snax.“Reading maketh a full man and writing, an exact man” by Francis Bacon is the motto of the Word Master hobby thus emphasising the importance of reading and writing skills.

There was an enthralling performance ‘Symphony of Strings’ by the Western Music Hobby. Children of Indian Music hobby presented a captivating medley of folk songs from the States of West Bengal, Assam, Gujrat, Rajasthan and Punjab. The orchestra had children skillfully playing different instruments like santoor, banjo, harmonium, tabla, synthesizer, tambourine and xylophone. Children of Theatre hobby delivered hard hitting performances titled ‘Khichri’ and ‘Respect Me Man’. The plays successfully emphasised the need to follow our heart and not go by what the world thinks and to value and take care of things that we use on a daily basis.

The girls of the Indian Folk Dance hobby presented a mesmerising Kathak performance based on a tarana from the Jaipur gharana. Not to be left behind the boys of bhangra and girls of giddha hobby had the audience clapping to the beats and energy of the young enthusiastic performers.Children who learnt clay modelling and pottery created models of the Seven Wonders of the World. The French and Korean language groups showcased their command of the language.The junior chefs of the Kids Snax hobby exhibited the various processes involved in cooking like chopping, kneading, mixing etc.The corridor of the Junior School was a visual delight with the art work and handicraft items made by the students of Classes I to V. On display were beautiful exhibits made from straws, clay, POP, paper mache’. Different painting techniques like leaf painting, tie and dye, marbelling, thumb painting, wax painting, spray painting, etc were also displayed. A special display of Gymnastic forms like cart wheel, bridge, back roll, hand stand etc., was put up by the students of Classes I and II.
