Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday said the government was ready to address the problems of private schools here and appealed to them to follow government norms."Tell us all your practical problems and we will solve them. They should follow government norms for best results," Sisodia said while addressing school principals at an event organised here to release computerised draw of lots for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) admissions to elementary classes."Some of you went to the court, we welcome it. Court is also a democratic space. Government is also a democratic space. People have elected us and we are here to fulfil their expectations. Let the court decide," Sisodia added.

The Delhi High Court earlier this month stayed the government's move to scrap management quota for nursery admissions in private, unaided schools. The private schools had filed the petition to challenge the circular. The Directorate of Education received over 73,000 applications against about 28,000 seats in EWS category for admission to elementary classes (nursery, kindergarten and class 1).The computerised draw has been centralised for the first time this year. Out of the total 28,000 seats, as many as 26,411 were filled while the remaining 1,589 seats will be filled in the next round.
